Yamaha Tenere 700 ABS Off-Road Dongle - color screen dashboard models (Latest 2025 version)
Plug-and-play Dongle that adds the memory for ABS and TC(Traction Control) settings and enables full control over full ABS + TC by stock "ABS" button. Everything is done by "clean way" trough data communication with ABS unit and the Dashboard. Without cutting any wires. It will give you the same user experience and comfort like it is there from the factory. No more worries with the disabling ABS again and again during off-road days.
The Dongle is still under development.
Expected release date is during end of October.
Compatibility
- Tenere 700 2025+ (EU and US models).
How it works
- Dongle Adds ABS + TC (Traction Control) memory.
- ON/OFF rear ABS + Traction Control by short click on stock ABS button.
- ON/OFF complete ABS + Traction Control by long hold of stock ABS button.
- You can still control the ABS and TC using the menu on the dashboard.
- Settings remains in memory after restarting the bike.
- If you click/hold the ABS button during riding, the dongle will keep that request and execute it immediately after stopping the bike.
- ...we will also offer a version with integrated fully-functional Plug-and-play cruise control system in one device. :)
The new behavior will be as follows:
- A short push of stock "ABS" button will toggle between the rear ABS OFF + TC OFF and ABS ON + TC ON.
- A long hold (approx. 1 second) of stock "ABS" button will turn ABS and TC completely OFF (front and rear ABS).
- ABS + TC settings are retained in memory even after turning the motorcycle OFF and ON.
Note: The changes of ABS settings still can still be done only when the bike is not moving - this is unfortunately hard-coded in ECU. If you push the ABS button during riding, the Dongle will remember that and do the requested operation immediately after stopping the bike.
Why do you need it
- It completely eliminates the time-consuming setting of ABS when driving in off-road or anywhere else.
- It allows you to return to the riding basics also with the modern bike. Just sit and enjoy the ride.
Installation
- Plug-and-play installation. Simply disconnect the Dashboard connector and connect the Dongle it between.
- User's manual: english, czech
> FAQ & Legality & Safety
- Dongle does nothing more than what can be set by hand on the original instrument panel. It just combines all the procedure to one click or automates them after startup (the memory).
- Please be careful during all riding and especially when you turn OFF the ABS. Do it only when you know what you are doing!
- In many states it is illegal to drive on public roads with the ABS system off. Please follow local regulations and keep safety of you and others on the roads!
FAQs:
-
Is the dongle waterproof?
- Yes, the sensitive electronics it placed in the high quality plastic box filled by epoxy. It is protecting it from water and humidity and also strengthens the entire structure against hard impacts and hardest shocks.
-
Can the Dongle damage anything on the bike in case of failure?
-
In case of Dongle failure the bike will enter safe mode but nothing will be damaged. After disconnecting the malfunctioning Dongle everything will return to normal. The eventual error symbol on dashboard will disappear after few short rides.
-
Both CAN bus itself and the devices connected to this bus are immune to failures of other connected devices so the Dongle failure will not damage them.
- However, this device interferes with other onboard electronic systems even if the ABS is set to ON (disabled state of the Dongle). In case of its failure ABS and some info on the dashboard may be temporarily unavailable. By installing this device, you assume all responsibility for possible damage to health and property caused by the incorrect function of this device and the subsequent malfunction of other electronic systems of the motorcycle. Device is designed for riding in hard Off-Road where the ABS system is unwanted and possibly dangerous.

Can the Dongle affect the warranty of the bike?
-
The Dongle communicates trough the CAN bus (and other data signals) with the dashboard and ECU and it is designed to automotive standards. The ECU and the Dashboard is unaware of whether the CAN communication containing the required settings is transmitted by the Dongle instead of the dashboard or ECU. The CAN BUS frames are identical to those sent by display panel. Therefore, if you disconnect the Dongle prior to making motorcycle warranty claim, there will be no indication that this device was ever connected.
- However, installation of the Dongle is your responsibility. Do not take this as a guide on how to circumvent the motorcycle's warranty conditions. It's just a description of how the Dongle interacts with the bike. It is still a piece of equipment that is not approved by Yamaha as an original accessory and you are responsible for any problems caused by its installation and use.
